Brooklyn Set To Honor Captain America With Bronze Statue

While we quietly wait for Detroit to finish their promised statue of Robocop, it looks like Brooklyn, NY is stepping up to honor their own hometown here, Captain America. The Statue, which was designed by Comicave Studios, is 13 feet tall and made of bronze. It will get its official unveil at San Diego Comic-Con later this month before moving to it’s permanent home in Prospect Park on August 10th.

Fans of the film Captain America: The First Avenger may get a bit of extra enjoyment from the statue, as it is emblazoned with Steve Rogers’ quote from the film: “I’m just a kid from Brooklyn.”
