There’s always an amazing art show to be found at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles. Right now, you can catch the tail end of Dave Pollot’s latest exhibition, “Passengers 2 – Wish You Were Here.” If you aren’t familiar with Pollot, he’s got a knack for taking existing pieces of found art and then adding that special extra touch that takes it to a whole new level. While most of the work we’ve seen from him has been built off of found works on canvas, the majority of the new show uses antique postcards as the foundation for his art. Some of the iconic bits of pop culture that served as inspiration for the show include Star Wars, Jaws, Forest Gump, Dumb and Dumber, Starfox, Super Mario Bros, Star Trek, Firefly, The Fifth Element, Jurassic Park, The Jetsons, Wayne’s World, Speed Racer, Talespin, Mars Attacks, Knight Rider, Arrested Development, The A-Team, Breaking Bad, Spongebob Squarepants, The Simpsons, and the Weinermobile. Check out the gallery below and then head over to Gallery 1988 to see what other bits of awesome they’ve got for you to see (and buy)!
