Mister Peanut Is Dead…

The Superbowl is nearly here and that means the previews for the ads from the big game are starting to hit the internet. Planters is one of the companies that “shelled” up at least $5 million for a spot this year and they appear to be using it to kill off their 104-year-old Mascot, Mister Peanut. Maybe it’s because his monocle makes him look like he’s part of the 1%. Maybe there are just too many kids out there with peanut allergies. We’ll find out what’s going on, and why he probably isn’t actually going to die on February 2nd. In the meantime, we get this teaser for the ad which seems to show that at least the famous legume mascot is getting a hero’s death.
