If you grew up in the 90’s you probably had, and killed a Tamogatchi. If you missed out on the craze, they were pretty much the digital version of the pet rock. They lived in a little key chain display you had to feed them, play with them, and clean up after them, or they would die.
Bandai, the company behind the Tamogatchi is bringing them back again, this time as an augmented reality app for IOS and Android phones. It’s called “My Tamogatchi Forever” and it will feature both the original Tamogatchi character as well as several brand new characters. It is being released as a free to play game, though you have to imagine that it will either be ad supported or will offer micro-transactions as we’ve come to expect from all Bandai mobile games, and pretty much all mobile games in general.
