Starbucks Employee Begs You: Don’t Get The Unicorn Frappuccino!

Starbucks, world-famous maker of over-priced, over-roasted dirt water coffee has just released their Unicorn Frappuccino, a drink that looks like a unicorn took a dump in a cup and has a taste that’s been described as being like everything from Sweet Tarts to “sour birthday cake mixed with a creamsicle covered in Pixie Stix.” Stephen Colbert even described the Unicorn Frappuccino as “tasting like I French-kissed Tinker Bell.” Apparently, the new instagram-inspired drink is also a royal pain in the ass for baristas to make. It has gotten so bad that some of the Starbucks employees have taken to the internet to beg you not to buy them.

There’s a couple of feelings going on in my head right now. First, this is what happens when companies start focusing more in Virality than quality. Second, this dude in the video is probably going to get fired. Having now reached well over 1.5 million people and been picked up by several media outlets, there’s no way that the legal team for Starbucks isn’t looking at some sort of action. He’s a Starbucks employee telling people to not buy a drink that Starbucks spent tons of money bringing to market. I’m not sure who is the bigger fool: Starbucks for releasing the drink or this guy for taking to the internet to complain about it.
