What if The Current Golden Age of Comic Book Movies Happened in The 1940’s?

It’s hard to imagine someone other than Robert Down Jr, Hugh Jackman, or Ron Perlman as Iron Man, Wolverine and Hellboy, but imagine if the movies were made in the golden age of cinema. That’s what Joe Phillips has done in his Silver Screen Heroes series of illustrations.

Phillips has taken some of the hottest comic book properties of today, and he’s created movie posters for them – had they been developed into films back in the 1940’s.

Instead of Ron Perlman as Hellboy, imagine Humphrey Bogart. Think of how Cary Grant would have played as Bruce Wayne/ Batman, or what Danny Kaye could have done with the Joker (Personally, I think he’d be better as the Riddler).

Hat Tip to D’on Noakes who made me aware of these great posters.
