The recent revival of The X-Files Was better than I had honestly anticipated. Were they the best episodes of the series, no, but they were solid enough to give me my Mulder and Scully fix without ruining the things that had come before it. Today, we’re learning that the good times aren’t over and that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully for at least ten more episodes.
Fox Broadcasting Company president David Madden had this to say:
“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why THE X-FILES has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide. Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of THE X-FILES.”
While I was content with last year’s run, overall reviews were mixed. It will be very interesting to see if they pick up from last season’s cliff hanger or go in a new direction.
