20th Century Fox is considering taking aim at turning Atari’s classic Missile Command from the 2600 console into a sci-fi action movie. With movie studios adapting just about anything from board games, cartoons to video games, Missile Command sounds like an inevitable.
While the game isn’t much compared to games today, its premise involving a conflict in a far off galaxy between the forces of Krytol and Zardon will get a big screen update and hopefully some big star attachment. “Missile Command” is in very early development, so not much else is known, aside from how desperate Hollywood is to adapt even 4-bit video games of blips and beeps.
