Looking for San Diego Comic Con 2011 tickets? Well, it’s too late, they’re all completely sold out.
According to Bleeding Cool News, when San Diego Comic Con sold a thousand tickets online in a test last December, they received half a million hits.
Yesterday, they got thirty three million hits and tickets were all completely sold out within an hour.
So for everyone who were encountering “unavailable” screens, now you know why. Even TicketLeap was unable to cope with the server load despite using Amazon’s web servers. No server could cope with 33 million hits.
The show is currently awaiting a full report to see if there are any solutions for next year when tickets for SDCC 2012 goes on sale. The Con understands the frustration and a San Diego Comic Con representative had this to say:
“There has to be a better way. There just has to be.”
Suggestions are currently welcome. By the time you read this, I’m pretty sure tickets for Comic Con 2012 would have been sold out already.
