It makes sense that the Fast & Furious franchise is all about family, because some of these cast members are fighting like brothers and sisters. First there was the widely reported on-set feud between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson on the set of Fate of the Furious. Now, we’ve got Tyrese believing that he is far more important to the films than he actually is.
His beef with Dwayne Johnson started a couple weeks ago when it was announced that FF9 would be pushed back to make room for the Johnson/Statham spin-off to come out first. Today he upped the ante and has entered into a game of chicken that he really might want to re-think before he ends up jobless.
Here’s what he had to say today on Instagram:
tyreseHello world………. hello loyal fans and loved ones from OUR fast universe…….. I’m sorry to announce that if Dewayne is in Fast9 there will no more Roman Peirce – You mess with family and my daughters survival I mess with yours……… close your eyes dude you’re a “Clown”…… #CandyAssBitchMade All my real one…. Men on integrity… my real ones out here stand UP…… folks that GP to the gym and get big naturally #NoJuice #NoOJ spin off huh? Spin off these nuts selfish champ…… pause notice who’s got his arms around my shoulder and who’s standing alone – #OurChildrenMatter
There’s a couple things at play here. First of all, I congratulate him on having a strong enough sense of self that he thinks the studio would side with him over The Rock. Secondly… how many of these movies has he made? Does this man not know how to put something in the bank to the point that the delayed paycheck of the 9th movie of a franchise messes with his “daughters survival?”
Anyways, it’ll be interesting to see how they write his character’s death into the next film.
