Adam Sandler’s ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ May Redeem His Netflix Reputation

If you’ve seen any of the Netflix films that Adam Sandler has been pushing out, than you know they aren’t exactly… good. That may be set to change with his newest film, ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’. The movie, which was written and directed by Noah Baumbach and co-starring Ben Stiller, Emma Thompson, Adam Driver, Dustin Hoffman, and Judd Hirsch.

The movie, which tells the story of multiple generations within a large, dysfunctional family, has garnered a lot of attention at Cannes and other festivals and is set for release on Netflix as well as in some theaters (for awards reasons) on October 13th.

From writer/director Noah Baumbach, The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) is the emotional and comic intergenerational tale of adult siblings (Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, and Elizabeth Marvel) contending with the long shadow their strong-willed father (Dustin Hoffman) has cast over their lives. With an original screenplay by Baumbach, the film also stars Emma Thompson, Grace Van Patten, Adam Driver, Candice Bergen, Judd Hirsch, and Rebecca Miller. The film was produced by Scott Rudin, Baumbach, Lila Yacoub, and Eli Bush.
