Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Joins Thor 2: The Dark World

The Bad guy roster is starting to get a bit crowded in Thor 2: The Dark World. We already know that Tom Hiddleston will be back as Loki and that Christopher Eccelston was cast as Malekith the Accursed. Now we are getting word that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, best known as Mr. Ecko from LOST has joined the film to play yet another villain.

According to Variety, he’ll be playing Algrim the Strong, the most powerful of the Dark Elves. Interestingly, this means that he’ll be sort of playing two parts in the film… or rather, two versions of the same character.

In the comics, Malekith coerces Algrim into battling Thor, only to be betrayed and injured by Malekith. Algrim then heals and is transformed into an even more powerful being called Kurse, who is said to be twice as strong as Thor.
