ABC made a lot of Marvel fans happy today by not only renewing Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a second season, but also formally giving the series green light to their new show, Agent Carter.
A lot of people have been down on SHIELD, with good reason. It had a very weak start. That said, those who have been able to hang on, have been treated to much better episodes, including a great four episode arc that will close out the season and is tied directly to Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Marvel’s Agent Carter stars Hayley Atwell who will be reprising her role from the first Captain America movie. In the series, we’ll pick up with the the events of her Agent Carter one-shot, where she ended up being one of the founding members of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Current reports are that Carter will serve as the mid-season fill in between the two halves of the Agents of SHIELD season.
