Alibaba Invests In Star Trek and TMNT

There’s no denying that China is the new frontier of Hollywood. It’s become one of America’s favorite places to shoot movies and one of the most important box office markets in the world. Now, Alibaba Pictures Group Ltd. has just announced that they will be investing in two upcoming Paramount sequels for Star Trek and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The films in question are the films already set for release, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” and “Star Trek Beyond.” This isn’t their firs foray into investment with Paramount either. They also invested some money into last year’s hit, “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.”
