The new Rise of the Planet of the Apes – Weta Featurette just came out this morning and it is one of the coolest features that I’ve ever seen on Motion Capture. A big focus of the piece is not so much on the technology, but the one actor in all of show business who has made his name by bringing it to life – Andy Serkis.
He’s been Gollum and King Kong, but from what you can see in the featurette… he’s never had a performance as amazing as this. OK, maybe he’s been just as good in all his other roles, but it looks like the technology has finally caught up to his awesomeness.
