AMC Developing “Companion Series” For THE WALKING DEAD

The Walking Dead and The Talking Dead are set to return on October 13th, but now there is new talk of a third series joining the franchise in 2015.

Variety is reporting that Robert Kirkman and executive producers Gale Anne Hurd and Dave Alpert are working on a “companion series” that would start airing in 2015.

In reality, this is just a spin-off, in the same vein as the video game. This series would take place in the same universe, but would feature all new characters. The question is, does it start from the beginning like The Walking Dead, or does it stay in the same timeline as the current series to allow for crossover action.
