Fearnet had an interview with film producer Wyck Godfrey about “The Twilight Saga” and the conversation digressed into the progress of the Janis Joplin biopic. Although Godfrey did not say much, he did confirmed that actress Amy Adams (Enchanted, Leap Year, Julie & Julia) would play the legendary 1960s folk singer. A role, originally long-rumored to be played by Zooey Deschanel.
Currently, IMDb has the movie listed under the title “Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can.”
“City of God” director Fernando Meirelles is currently attached to direct although there’s no studio involvement at the time. For the most part, the Joplin biopic project has been in limbo having been unable to get off the ground and the script has already been through several drafts and rewrites.
