Andrew Lincoln Leaving ‘The Walking Dead’

The future of AMC’s The Walking Dead has seemed less and less certain over the last season and a half as viewership dropped and fan complaints have risen. Series Regular, Lauren Cohen, nearly left the show at the end of last season before getting a new contract. Even still, she’ll be pulling double duty between Walking Dead and her new series, Whiskey Tango on ABC. Now it’s being reported that Rick Grimes himself, Andrew Lincoln, is calling it quits at the end of the upcoming season 9. According to the reports, he’s only slated to appear in six episodes in the upcoming season before making his exit. Chances are the exit isn’t coming in the way of a series finale as additional reports have AMC throwing large sums of money at ‘Daryl’ actor, Norman Reedus, in hopes that he sticks around and takes over the lead.
