The Oscars went out of their way to give us a young and hip award show last night. Even the hosts couldn’t help but joke about it in their first couple of minutes on stage. If they had stopped at bringing on Anne Hathaway and what appeared to be a slightly stoned James Franco, that would have been fine. But no, you can’t be hip without YouTube.
Enter the Gregory Brothers. Now let me clear. I like the Gregory Brothers. I check Youtube every week to see if they have a new Autotune the News video up… and it has been far too long since there has been one. As much as I like them, I think that bringing them into the Oscars was a dumb move.
