‘Avatar’ Inspires ‘Resident Evil 4,’ Going 3D and Getting Rebooted

Paul WS Anderson has informed Shock Till You Drop that the next Resident Evil flick will throw Alice and her zombies foes in a whole new landscape.

Not only will Anderson return to direct “Resident Evil: afterlife,” he reveled that “Afterlife” will be sort of a re-tooling and reboot ala “Terminator: Salvation.”

“I always envisioned Resident Evil as a trilogy of films,” it will be a “re-tooling and rebirth of the entire franchise.”

Most interesting though, “we’re doing it in 3D and we’re using the same camera system as James Cameron’s Avatar.”

Milla Jovovich is set to return, and the film will be out in September 2010.
