The worst thing that can happen in a franchise climax that you know might be a two-parter is when the big bad doesn’t show their face until the last minute of the first movie. Kevin Feige came out in a new interview to let us know that this won’t be a problem when it comes to Avengers: Infinity War. In fact, he’s promising that Thanos is going to make his power known, pretty much from jump.
“Within the first five minutes of Infinity War people will understand why Thanos is the biggest and baddest villain in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
“You know, we’ve been teasing Thanos since the very first Avengers film,” Feige continued. “Remember the end of Avengers, the very end of the movie he turns around in the chair and you realize something bad is coming. We’ve been teasing him for years and the trick is when you tease something for that long you have to deliver.”
So, what does this mean? If I had to guess, this is probably be where we see what happens when Thanos’ ship catches up with Thor and the Asgardian refugees. It would explain how Banner ends up crashed through the ceiling of the Sanctum and how that could set things in motion.
