The new trailer is out for Christian Bale and Ridley Scott’s new bible flick, Exodus: Gods and Kings. Surprisingly, There is no Comandment Tumbler, Huey Lewis music, or extreme weightloss fluctuations by the movie’s star.
I’m not a religious man, but I had a pretty religious upbringing. For that reason, and pretty much that reason alone, I’m curious to see Scott’s take on the classic tale of Moses freeing the Jews from slavery in Egypt. The bible does have plenty of interesting stories, and I for one look forward to frogs run amok in the pyramids, but I’ve found that most of these new bible stories are usually just vehicles for directors to get overly preachy about messages that had nothing to do with the original story.
Joining Bale in the film are: Joel Edgerton, John Turturro, Aaron Paul, Ben Mendelsohn, Sigourney Weaver and Ben Kingsley.
Exodus: Gods and Kings hits theaters on December 12, 2014.
From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes the epic adventure “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” the story of one man’s daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state of the art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 400,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.
Not sure if this looks good or not yet, but at least it looks better than Noah. Half way through that one I was hoping a flood would wash me away.
