Becky is probably going to be a very fun movie and it could mark a major turning point in the acting career of Kevin James. The Former star of King of Queens, Paul Blart Mall Cop, Here Comes The Boom has grown as far as his comedic acting chops of the year, but this is going to be the first time when he takes on a seriously nasty role. He’s the guy everyone wants to punch, a Nazi.

In the new film, James plays the bad guy, a Nazi who escapes from prison and goes looking for a key. A key that just happens to now be in the unassuming hands of a girl named Becky (Lulu Wilson). Becky and her parents (Joel McHale, Amanda Brugel) are getting away to the lake house for the weekend when James shows up.

What appears to ensue is a dark version of a Home Alone type standoff between Becky and the Nazi. It actually looks like it could be kind of awesome.

While the film isn’t going to win any Oscars, it’s an important step for James’ career to show that he can play something other than the goofy, lovable teddy bear. You can’t get much further away from that than playing a prison escapee, home-invading, Nazi.

Becky hits theaters *(if they are open), Digital, and VOD, June 5th.

Spunky and rebellious, Becky (Lulu Wilson) is brought to a weekend getaway at a lake house by her father Jeff (Joel McHale) in an effort to try to reconnect. The trip immediately takes a turn for the worse when a group of convicts on the run, led by the merciless Dominick (Kevin James), suddenly invade the lake house. Cast: Kevin James, Lulu Wilson, Joel McHale, Amanda Brugel, Robert Maillet
