I like Ben Affleck. Hell, I’ve liked him since I was like 8 years old and I watched him on Voyage of The Mimi on PBS, but this seems like a bad plan.
He’s had some really strong points in both his acting and directing careers, but comic book movies have a lot of moving parts and playing both the hero and the director leaves a lot of room for balls to drop.
THe good news out of this is that his screenwriter on the film will be Chris Terrio, with whom he collaborated on Argo, which was a great movie. Interestingly, Terrio was also brought in for some work on Batman v Superman, and he’s been tasked with writing the screenplays for the Justice League movies.
