The Breaking Bad prequel spin-off that was better than anyone could have imagined is getting ready to return for a fifth season, but Deadline is now reporting that the show’s life is coming to an end. At AMC’s TCA presentation it was announced that the Bob Odenkirik-led series would be coming back for a sixth season, but that would be the end of the show.
Here’s what showrunner and executive producer Peter Gould said.
“From Day 1 of Better Call Saul, my dream was to tell the complete story of our complicated and compromised hero, Jimmy McGill – now AMC and Sony are making that dream come true. We couldn’t be more grateful to the fans and critics who are making this journey possible. Next month we start work on the sixth and final season — we’re going to do our damnedest to stick the landing.”
Season 5 of Better Call Saul lands at AMC with a two-night premiere event on February 23 and February 24.
Along with Odenkirk who plays the titular Jimmy McGill, AKA Saul Goodman, Better Call Saul also stars Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mando, Tony Dalton, and Giancarlo Esposito.
