While the masses might be excited about Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, the fans who appreciate a good animated feature are jumping out of their skin with excitement over this year’s pending direct to DVD release of Batman: The Killing Joke. Along with bring one of the est Batman stories ever done, it will also bring back Mark Hamill to his role as The Joker.
Newsarama sat down with Bruce Timm to discuss the upcoming film, set for release this July, and found out that we’ll actually get to see more in the DVD than we ever saw in the comics.
The one big difference about it, as opposed to those other projects, is The Killing Joke… the source material is really not long enough to make an entire feature film out of,” Timm said to ConTV. “So we actually had to add a lot more story to it. Superman is currently scheduled for release on July 11, 2025
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
