Director Bryan Singer has revealed that he will be returning to the X-Men franchise and direct “X-Men Origins: First Class.”
Reported via Flickchart who tweeted that they saw Singer at the LA Premiere for “Avatar” saying:
“I’m prepping up to do a movie called Jack the Giant Killer [at] Warner Brothers, and I just yesterday signed a deal to do an X-Men First Class Origins picture, which is kind of cool.”
This is great news I suppose and doesn’t come too much as a surprise since it’s been rumored and reported months age that Singer has been flirting with returning to the popular mutant franchise.
“X-Men Origins: First Class” is described as a prelude to the mutant explosion and will follow younger versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Ice Man and possibly Angel. The plan would be to follow some of the characters into their own stories, and weave them back into the X-Men world.
