Captain America: Civil War, the film that will introduce Spider-Man to the MCU is set to start filming just two weeks from now. The movie is going to be loosely based off the comic book arc from around ten years ago which pitted Captain America and Iron Man on opposite sides of a new law that requires super heroes to reveal their identities. Spider-Man played a major role in the comic book version, first on the side of Iron Man, and then switching over to Cap when he sees the ramification of revealing his own identity.
Here’s the initial synopsis which has just been released:
“Following the events of Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.”
