On Sunday, a lot of people will be watching the big game, not because their favorite team is playing, but because the first trailer for ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ is premiering during the game. However that is not the only big thing happening on Superbowl Sunday for Cap.
Marvel Studios and Marvel Comics will be teaming up to release an 8 part digital comic book that directly ties into the movie at the same time that the trailer airs on TV. It will then be released through the Marvel Comics iPad app on Feb 8th.
“Written by Fred Van Lente and featuring a rotation of artists, the story is set in Marvel’s “cinematic universe” — the one with Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Chris Hemsworth as Thor — and ties in with events of the movie. It’s a joint production between Marvel Comics and Marvel Studios.
Each of the eight issues focuses on a specific character from the movie, heroes and villains alike, and what brought them to the point where the movie begins.”
After that, you’ll have to wait until the first day of Comic Con, Jully 22nd for the nationwide release of the movie.
