Variety just announced this evening that Casino Royale director Martin Campbell has been approached by Warner Bros to direct their live-action Green Lantern film based on the same iconic DC Comics’ Superhero.
Campbell who has directed Zorro as well as GoldenEye is no stranger to “action” films and is a fantastic choice to helm DC/WB’s latest property. Development for Green Lantern has stalled a bit, despite already having a screenwriter in the more than capable Greg Berlanti along with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.
Berlanti was even once considered to direct, however, he has since been removed and attached to direct “This is Where I Leave You,” based off a novel by Jonathan Tropper.
