‘Chasing Amy’, ‘My Name Is Earl’s’ Jason Lee Returning To TV Comedy In ‘Valley Trash’

A couple of weeks ago, we saw Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (Worth seeing if you’ve ever been a fan of Kevin Smith’s Viewaskewniverse) and we started wondering where Jason Lee has been for the last few years. The actor who starred in films like Mallrats, Dogma, and Chasing Amy, as well as the hit sitcom My Name is Earl and one too many Alvin and The Chipmunks movies has been a bit of a ghost as of late. Well, word is out that Lee is on his way back to TV with a brand new comedy series.

The new show, Valley Trash, is a single-camera comedy about an LA Private School. Lee is starring in the show from Speechless writer-producer Niki Schwartz-Wright and Fresh off the Boat creator/executive producer Nahnatchka Khan according to the new report from Deadline.

The show has already received a green light from ABC, the home to several of Khan’s previous comedies. Here’s the description of the new show from Deadline:

It centers on The Harmans, a scrappy, blue-collar family living in the deep Valley who suddenly experience a major culture clash when their fourteen-year-old daughter, Abby, gets accepted to a prestigious LA private high school filled with students and parents who want nothing to do with her, her family or their 818 area code.

Lee’s character, Cal, is an Atticus Finch-style lawyer who helps provide legal services for those that otherwise couldn’t afford it.
