There have been murmurs and rumors about a new National Lampoons Vacation film for a long time. The plan has always been to have Ed Helms as a grown up version of Rusty Griswold. Now, writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are saying that they are close to a deal with original Vacation Cast Members, Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo to have them return.
Word is that they probably won’t be there for more than just a brief cameo. It will be interesting to see how excited people are about Chase who recently garnered some bad press and ill-will towards fans with his walk out on Community.
It has also been announced that Christina Applegate is up for the role of Helm’s wife.
