Speaking recently to Variety, “Inception” branchild Christopher Nolan mentioned how he’s not done with the Inception world he’s created. In fact, if there isn’t a sequel, he would like to see a video game based on his dream state world.
Here’s what Nolan had to say:
One thing we are looking at doing is developing a video game based on the world of the film, which has all kinds of ideas that you can’t fit into a feature film. That’s something we’ve been talking about and are looking at doing long-term, in a couple of years.
I can see this happening considering how it has some video game influences with the layers of dream worlds. Not to mention the viral campaign website for the film offered a little maze like video game for people to create and then run through. Can we say, Sim City meets Grand Theft Auto? Yes, I can see it happening and it would be all kinds of awesome.
Having already made $753 million worldwide, it’s hard not to image there being an “Inception” video game. So what’s everyone waiting for, let’s make it happen already!
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
