Christopher Nolan who is overseeing Warner Bros. new Superman reboot has been meeting with potential directors to tackle the film. A short list of potential directors have been compiled and according to Deadline, any one of these five directors could end up directing the new Superman film.

– Tony Scott (Top Gun, Man on Fire)
– Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Cloverfield)
– Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles)
– Duncan Jones (Moon)
– Zack Snyder (300, Watchman)

From the list, I’m most excited to see Liebesman, Reeves and Jones. Of the three, I’d probably want Liebesman or Reeves, just because they can both tell stories and do action. I’ve been extremely impressed with Liebsman’s “Battle: Los Angeles” as well as Reeves “Let Me In.”

Nolan is expected to submit his choices to WB within the next few weeks. Production should soon be underway as Warner Bros and Legendary need to get the movie made by 2012. This is so because the rights for Superman will revert back to the heirs of Superman creator Jerry Siegel at the beginning of 2013.
