It’s no secret that 20th Century Fox has expressed interest in rebooting Marvel’s first superhero family the “Fantastic Four.” The question was never whether or not the franchise would get rebooted, but rather who’d reboot it. It seems as if the studio has now found their man in “Chronicle” director Josh Trank.
Variety is reporting that the studio has had several meetings with the director of the upcoming low-budge superhero film “Chronicle,” but are waiting to see how the film does before making him an offer.
I for one look forward to a new “Fantastic Four” film. I was never happy with the original as they were too watered down and kiddie. Hopefully the new film will take the franchise in a more serious direction and take the F4 into space or at the very least some grand adventure. I’m not familiar with Trank work so I can’t really say whether or not he’s the right man for the job. But I’m sure he’s capable as it can’t possibly get any worse… that is unless Fox hired Mark Steven Johnson (Ghost Rider, Daredevil).
