The Child’s Play movies gave us the gift of Chucky, and for that we will always be grateful. What they haven’t done is given us a lot of good Child’s Play movies, so we’re hoping SyFy has better luck when they take a stab at the series with their new show, Chucky.
The new series will not be a reboot, but a continuation of the original films according to creator, Don Mancini. It’s also been revealed that Mark Hamill will not be voicing Chucky as he did in the recent film. Instead, that job will go to the original voice of the character, Brad Dourif.
After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.
