Confirmed, Spike Lee to Direct American remake of ‘Oldboy’

Officially confirmed, Spike Lee is set to direct the American remake of the Korean cult classic, “Oldboy.”

I’m not sure how to feel about this. Normally I’m not the biggest fan of American remakes of foreign films but there are always some gems in the bunch. This could be a great come back film for Lee since he’s having one hell of a hard time getting anyone to give a shit about his feature projects since the disaster of “Miricle at St, Anna” hit theaters. Not even saying it’s a bad film but it was such a big flop that studios haven’t been interested in investing in Spike since.

“Oldboy” is an amazing film from Chan wook-Park and should be seen by all. One of the top revenge films with a good psychological edge. The lead in the film is quite good and it will be interesting to see who Spike goes after for the role.
