Originally speculated, but now confirmed. It looks like both teaser trailers for “The Dark Knight Rises” and “The Hobbit” are set to air prior to the screening of “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.”
In addition, it was earlier announced that select IMAX screenings of “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” would show an extended prologue to “The Dark Knight Rises” on December 16th. But Variety is now reporting that a teaser trailer for “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” will air before “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” instead, which also opens on December 16th.
While it’s anyone’s guess what we’ll see with the teaser for “The Hobbit.” We do have a better idea of what we can expect for “The Dark Knight Rises.” According to Nolan in a recent interview with Empire, the prologue teaser “is basically the first six, seven minutes of the film. It’s an introduction to Bane, and a taste of the rest of the film.”
