After weeks of speculation, Trainspotting/ Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle has just announced that he will be directing the next James Bond film. While this is his first Bond film, it’s not the first time that Boyle has worked with Daniel Craig in the Bond character. The two worked together on a sketch for the 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony.
The plan is to start production on the film sometime towards the end of this year, but Boyle has one more more to knock out first and he wants to make sure that the script is solid before they begin. Here’s what he had to say:
“We are working on a script right now. And it all depends on that really. I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting that in 6 or 7 weeks. Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now.
“We’ve got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment. And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away.”
