Last week we talked about the fact that things were so rough between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel that he might not rejoin the “family” for Fast and Furious 9. The good news is that fans of his Hobbs character in the franchise can still look forward to the upcoming spin-off alongside Jason Statham. Making the action team-up even sweeter is that it has now been confirmed that Deadpool 2/ Atomic Blonde director, David Leitch will direct the movie. That means that we can expect at least as much hand-to-hand combat in this film as we’ve seen car-to-car action in the last 8 movies.
Beyond that, there’s not a lot to say. We know that Chris Morgan will write the script, which makes sense as he’s written every script in the franchise since Tokyo Drift. We also know that it’s set for a July 26, 2019 release. When there’s more to say, we’ll have it for you here.
