After months of speculation, we are finally getting our first look of Deadpool 2’s Josh Brolin as the time traveling mutant, Cable… and it is good! There’s no way that we’ll ever see a version of the character that looks like Rob Leifeld’s original drawings. Muscles don’t come that big, and feet don’t come that small. So, if this is the closest we can get in real life, I’m happy with it… even if he does kind of look like Ryan Reynolds in the head.
It still remains to be seen how much of Cable’s back story will make it to the movies – is he the son of Cyclops and Jean Grey, sent to the future to escape the technovirus? How much of his past with Deadpool and Domino will be true to the comics? We’ll find out one way or another when Deadpool 2 hits the big screen on June 1, 2018.
