Deadpool Animated Series Heading To FXX From Donald Glover

FXX might look like it is starting to wind down their run of Archer, but it looks like they’ve already got a promising new animated show with which to replace it. It’s just been announced that FXX will be taking Marvel’s merc with a mouth and porting his animated visage to the small screen. Running the show will be Donald Glover and his brother, Stephen Glover. The two are riding high at the network after the critical acclaim of their co-created and produced FX series, Atlanta. Joining them on the adventure will be Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory who are also serving as executive producers.

Nick Grad, co-president of original programming at FX Networks and FX Productions, had this to say about the show:

“Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who’ll bring the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta. With the success of Legion, we’re looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking and entirely original.”

Meanwhile, Loeb had this to say:

“How much more fun could this be? Deadpool, Donald and FX – the perfect fit for the Merc with the Mouth! We’re thrilled that our relationship with FX that started with Legion continues with what is sure to be a groundbreaking show in adult animation.”

There’s currently no word on what characters will appear in the new show or pretty much any other details, but this should be exciting news for any Deadpool fan. As of right now, FXX has ordered 10 episodes and they are scheduled to air in 2018.
