Most people think that Spider-Man/ Peter Parker entered the MCU in Captain America: Civil War. Now we’ve got confirmation about a fan theory that brought a Young Parker in years earlier. The long held theory posits that the small child who stands up to one of the Hammer Drones at the Queens Stark Expo in Iron Man 2 was none other than a young Peter Parker. It’s a cute theory, but one that is very easy to brush off, or at least it would be, if Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland didn’t get confirmation from Kevin Feige.
In a new interview with Huffington Post, Holland says that he actually went back and talked to the Marvel Studios boss about it:
It is Peter Parker. I can confirm that, that is Peter Parker. I can confirm that as of today. I literally had a conversation with Kevin Feige only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I’ve just done a big, old spoiler, but it’s out there now. It’s cool. I like the idea that Peter Parker has been in the universe since the beginning.
Well there you go. All this talk about partnerships between studios to share licenses, and it looks like Marvel has been sneaking in characters they don’t own for years! OK… now do it with Silver Surfer!
