Talks regarding a fourth installment of Jurassic Park has been buzzing for years now and while Steven Spielberg says it is in the works or will soon be in the works, things aren’t looking good this very moment.

Recently, Coming Soon asked Jurassic Park 4’s assigned producer, Frank Marshall, who is currently promoting The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, about the status of the dinosaur epic. His reply:

“You know, when Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that’s it. Maybe that’s a sign that we don’t mess with it.”

Yup, that’s not a good sign at all. Granted this news doesn’t come at a huge loss, especially since each installment deteriorated in quality. Do we really need a Jurassic Park 4, which is rumored to have gun wielding dinosaurs? Aren’t dinosaurs scary enough, it’s bad enough that they eat people, but do we really need them to also pop a cap in our ass too?
