Two big things are happening for fans of The Mandalorian on this year’s Star Wars Day (May 4th). The show will finally debut on the UK’s Disney+, and along with it a new documentary series will launch that goes behind the scenes of each episode. New episodes will drop each week along with the UK version of the corresponding show episode. From the look of the first trailer, it seems like we are in for the kind of peek-behind-the-curtain that both Star Wars and film/TV nerds can’t get enough of.

Some of the most exciting things for us include Jon Favreau taking viewers on a tour of an amazing looking video sound stage that seems to eliminate the need for green screen on a small scale and some epic round tables that include Favreau, Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, as well as the cast and other star directors who made season one so special.

In “Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian,” Executive Producer Jon Favreau invites the cast and crew to share an unprecedented look at the making of the series which quickly became a pop culture phenomenon after premiering in November. Debuting on the day that a worldwide community of fans celebrate all-things-Star Wars — Monday, May 4 — “Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian” is an eight-episode documentary series that pulls back the curtain on the first season of “The Mandalorian.” Each chapter explores a different facet of the first live-action Star Wars television show through interviews, never-before-seen footage, and roundtable conversations hosted by Favreau.

New episodes of “Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian” will stream every Friday on Disney+.

Go beyond the making of The Mandalorian. Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, an Original Series, starts streaming May the 4th, only on Disney+.
