One of the many shows in the pipeline is the Beauty and the Beast prequel series about Gaston and Le Feu starring Josh Gad and Luke Evans. The series, which will shed light on where Gaston got his reputation and where fans hope the alleged romance between the two buddies will come to fruition (If you think that’s gonna happen, just google the Love, Simon series and the Lizzie Maguire revival), has been mentioned several times, but no name has been given… at least not until now.
While Disney+’s MCU shows are going with more on the nose name like “Loki” and “Falcon and Winter Soldier”, this show will be borrowing from one of the most memorable musical numbers in the original film, and no… we aren’t talking about the one about Gaston.
In a new interview with Variety, EGOT winning composer Alan Menken, he let slip that the name of the new series would be ‘Little Town’, a nod to the opening number from Beauty and The Beast, ‘Belle.’ When production opens back up, the show should be getting into production under showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, of Once Upon a Time fame.
