At today’s Disney stockholder meeting, Star Wars was one of the hot topics of conversation. Walt Disney Co. chief financial officer Jay Rasulo told happy investors that “the market is extremely hot for everything ‘Star Wars.’”
He went on to say that “The sky’s the limit,” as far as potential for the brand including expanding its presence in the company’s theme parks.
There was talk about expanding the brand from just toys into things like housewares and other markets, but the main focus was that first they had to put out a good movie.
Speaking of the movies, Rasulo said that one “Star Wars” trilogy film or “origin story film” would also appear on the release schedule each year, starting in 2015 with Episode VII.
