Disney+ Working To Prevent Password Sharing

It seems like half the people we know who have Netflix accounts, have at least one friend or family member with whom they share their account. Well, it looks like Disney+ doesn’t subscribe to the whole Sharing Is Caring mentality.

Details about the plan were found in a new press release about Disney continuing to share content with Charter Cable members through Spectrum, one of the worst cable companies in operation:

“Additionally, Disney and Charter have also agreed to work together on piracy mitigation. The two companies will work together to implement business rules and techniques to address such issues as unauthorized access and password sharing.”

It’s not quite known how they plan to make this work, or if they’ll allow for an account to have multiple preference sets (like Netflix currently does). One thing is for sure, preventing sharing just means that more of the content will be pirated.
