DreamWorks Animation CEO Offered $75 Million For 3 More Breaking Bad Episodes

Fans everywhere shed a tear a couple of weeks ago when Breaking Bad came to it’s amazing finale. One fan, DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzeneberg wasn’t ready for the show to end. In fact, he was so into the story that he offered up $75 million dollars for them to make three more episodes.

Of course, it wasn’t just because he was a fan, he is also a brilliant business man. He figured that, based on demand for the show, those three episodes could make the creators of the show more money than all four seasons combined!.

The plan was to create 180 minutes of new programming that followed up with the characters after the death of Walt. Each episode would be released in a pay per view model at 50-99 cents per 6 minute mini segment. The full 180 minutes would be spread over a one month period.

Here’s what he told the studio:
“I said (to them), ‘I’m going to create the greatest pay-per-view television event for scripted programming anybody’s ever done,’ ” Katzenberg explained. There are definitely people who would pay for that.”
