DreamWorks, recently became independent and is returning to film production. Their first order of business? Purchasing the rights to “I Saw You,” a project belonging to screenwriter Andrea McCloud, which follows four separate but eventually intertwining romances inspired by real life Craigslist “missed connection” ads.
While it’s not necessarily a Craigslist movie, “I Saw You” will be their latest line of ensemble romantic comedies hoping to lighten the mood and bring droves of women into theater seats. It’s almost a guarantee that there will be a happy ending, verses the reality of missed connections which usually end in spiraling loneliness of depression and unresolved self pity and what ifs.
George Tillman, Jr. (Notorious, Men of Honor, Soul Food) is scheduled to direct. No cast has been named, but it’s probably safe to assume that they will be portrayed by beautiful pretty people, who in reality have never ever needed the help of Craigslist to find love or a missed connection.
Expect “I Saw You” to hit sometime in 2010.
